Becoming An Outlier: Steps To Success

By Evan Sanders

It took me a long time to truly realize the seriousness of the concept of quality over quantity.

Perhaps it's the society we live in where typically more is better and getting free things is an enticing offer. It's easy to get wrapped up in going for the cheapest thing on the table because it's sometimes the most accessible thing to grab onto. Thing is, this does not challenge you. This does not help you grow.

Life has an interesting way of only opening doors and opportunities to us when we expand past our current boundaries. When we look to bring the best out in ourselves, these doors open to us because we are seeing and experiencing life in ways we haven't before. But this only happens when we decided to take on a challenge that will make us grow.

Most people become disappointed with their lives because they never had the courage or guts to go after what they really wanted for themselves.

You need to be willing to make sacrifices for your own greater good.

You have to be willing to put your name on the board, write a goal with it, and give it everything you have.

Above all, you must be willing to continuously raise the bar for yourself in order to become something great. Good is never good enough. Excellence is the goal.

It's amazing the disconnect that happens when people search for happiness. What's interesting however, is that when you don't seek it...it actually comes to you. I did not search for happiness at all. However, I did not partake in the standard "just be satisfied" rubbish either. What I did was work on improving upon myself, doing the things which I knew would make me a more fulfilled person, and when it was right, I let happiness find me.

There is so much material out there about being happy, but one thing that is for sure is when you start "trying" to be happy it will always elude you.

Make sacrifices. Sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. See a dream that you have in your mind and go out and tackle it. You can spend your entire life wondering "what if" but if you go out there and actually go for what you want, you can remove those two tragic words from your vocabulary.

Sacrifice is what will make you great.

Who will you be today?
