There are times when an athlete will want to give up or they become despondent, and it is important to work on this particular aspect.

Obviously the duration can vary from one person to the next. Some people will have more confidence. Other folks will have been injured, out of form or they would just have lost hope. They may have trouble getting back into the swing of things knowing that they might get injured again. There are techniques to use in order to implement a plan and this will also help the person to work towards their goals.

A coach may implement other techniques which the athlete is not comfortable with. Sometimes, someone will get into their comfort zone. This is the reason that they continue to under perform. When they are exposed to another environment and to other people they will be more aware of certain aspects in their life. They may have to make various changes in their life, such as their diet or their routine.

You also have to be confident with the coach that you are working with. There are many people that you can select from. Often, you will be working very closely with a person like this. It is therefore, essential that you get on with them. You need to be able to connect with them. This will ensure that you build up a solid, trusting relationship. They obviously need to be fully qualified and experienced to do a job like this.

There are often tools that are used within the sessions. Sometimes, the coach will used videos to show the athlete the comparison of their behavior from what they were like a few months ago and how they have fallen back over time. There may be a noticeable difference in the facial expressions or in the body language. For example, the tennis play may bounce the ball a lot before serving. They may seem to be less confident in the way in which they walk from one side to the other.
