Spiritual Centering In A Christian Church

By Rebecca Fox

The universe is vast. The majority of it cannot be comprehended by the naked eye and especially not while standing on a single planet. But in that vastness is power, and in that power, human being find meaning. Now, this meaning can be discerned in Christian church Wichita KS.

Now, people hold religious beliefs for a lot of reasons. For many, it is habit, something they did with their families growing up that stuck with them to adulthood. Others simply hold sincere beliefs in their particular deity of choice.

The unfortunate reality of the world is that there will always be individuals with a lust for power and no scruples. Not only do these people exist today, they have existed throughout all of history. The chronicles of humankind are littered with those who have manipulated the beliefs of people to their own ends.

The most widely practiced faith in the world is Christianity. With around 2 and a half billion followers, it holds around one third of the total population of the world. It can trace its genesis to the Middle East, where over two thousand years ago, a carpenter stopped carpentry and started preaching instead, telling people to love and forgive each other and not to judge other people.

A church is a building where the organized worship is conducted. Generally, there will be a crucifix, since the carpenter who founded it was crucified for spreading around the message that people should be at least decent to each other. Now, in certain sects of the faith, the churches will be much larger and more opulent than others.

The sect with a nation state is Christianity and almost half of all of the followers in the world belong to it. For the longest time, it was the only sect around, and then several schisms happened around the Middle Ages. Now, depending on geographical location, some sects may be more prominent than others.

Each branch of the religion is going to have different focuses on the gospels left behind by the founder and the original disciples. However, across all of them will be the belief in a supreme being, the divinity of the carpenter, and the spreading of love, as love was the original message. Some will have a greater emphasis on punishing the guilty whereas others will focus greatly on reconciliation and forgiveness.

Now, while religion is all well and good when done right, there are some people out there who have no intention to do any kind of good. A great measuring stick for whether or not a preacher is legit is whether or not they ask for money for things like a private jet. The crucified carpenter wandered around in nothing but sandals to spread the gospel, but some preachers apparently think that they are better than that person and decide they need private jets.

Whatever church is chosen, a follower needs to remember love. Love is the root of all Christianity. If not love, then at least common decency.
