Hynek And Close Encounters UFOs Scales

By Douglas Anderson

When it comes to unidentified flying objects, most believers have seen at least something unknown in the day or night sky. While many just go on with life curious as to what may have been in the sky, others want to know more about Close Encounters UFOS. Whether through ongoing research, or setting up a satellite like in the movie Contact, it is clear that interest in this aspect of the paranormal has only grown over time.

Ufology, often considered an aspect of the paranormal has now become more popular than ever. Whether due to the increased number of sightings, a personal experience, or J. Allen Hynek's book related to close encounters released in 1972, interest has only grown over time.

It was Hynek's scale which was used in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, distributed to theaters in 1977. In fact, the movie was named after the third level of Hynek's scale. Perhaps, this is what made the movie more believable than others.

The scale which was used in the film, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, released in 1977, was created by Hynek. Most often, when looking to research a possible sighting, people turn to Hynek's book with regards to verifying an official sighting. Whereas, if there are other factors with regards to abductions, communications or tests, the scale often makes confirmation that much easier.

Known as a scientist, Hynek created a six encounter mapping device which could be used in identifying different types of UFOS and alien behaviors. Based on different actions, movements and locations, others became interested in finding out whether these vessels were only a part of science fiction, or if there truly were visitors from outer space.

The second level of a close encounter is an event in which some type of physical interaction is present. Whether the malfunction of a motor vehicle, electronic interference or animals showing strange behavior. At this level, individuals can also experience physiological changes such as heat, discomfort or paralysis. Lastly, this level would also include crop circles and other evidence of a craft having landed whether in the desert or wilderness.

As shown in the movie, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, the third level includes some type of animated being such as robots or humanoids whom seem to be occupants or pilots of a UFO. While the fourth level represents evidence of an abduction of a human by a UFO or occupants. While not referenced, face to face meetings with species from another planet would most likely be represented at this level.

The third scale includes some type of animation between UFO occupants and humankind. Whether that be androids, humanoids or robots which were pilots or passengers of a vessel. Whereas, the fourth scale represents evidence of the abduction of a human or other entity by a UFO or occupants. While humans are often noted for initiating communication with other species, abductions, experiments and tests are often initiated by aliens and are rarely of a consensual nature.
